 Pumpkins are low in calories, fat, and sodium and high in fiber content. They are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, iron and proteins.

 Pumpkin seeds are planted between the last week of May and mid-June. They need between 90 and 120 days to fully grow and are ready for consumption in October when they already have developed their bright orange color.

 Pumpkins are eaten baked and boiled, and are a common ingredient to delicious desserts, for example the typical Bulgarian tikvenik. They are even put in wedding cakes!
